Youth Beginning Knitting Class
June 8 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
One event on January 1, 1970 at 10:30am
In June as promised, I will be teaching ages 8+ to knit. The young knitter should have a desire to knit and know that any new skill can be a little difficult to master; as in any sport, mastery requires practice. And, that is what we will be doing in this class. I will teach the knitter how to cast on, knit, and bind off. These are the three basic skills any knitter first learns. After these have been mastered, if the knitter wants, he/she can move on to more classes. The students will make a scarf depending on their mastery of these three skills.
Our session will be two hours long; a break will be provided. We will provide a light snack for them.
We do expect all supplies to be bought from Knit n purl. We want the knitters to begin with flexible needle cords and good wool or acrylic yarn. We begin with modest supplies which are comparable to those in other craft stores.
This is a free series for the young knitters with the only purchase being their materials.
